There are yarn stores that sell yarn and there are yarn stores that have soul. Camas Creek Yarn is of the latter. From the seasonal displays in the front windows, to the comfortable knitting area towards the back, Camas Creek is inspiring. I've always been greeted warmly (and now by name) each time I visit. The staff are helpful and more importantly, knowledgable. Mary, Wendy and Melanie have all spent at least 15-30 minutes with me, listening to my ideas and helping me choose the perfect yarn for a project. Visitors are encouraged to bring their projects, relax in a comfy chair or sofa and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. On the house, I might add. The yarn selection is varied and interesting. From more economical to the high end, there is something for every knitter at Camas Creek. Their prices are competitive if not less than other yarn stores in Montana. I do occasionally shop at the other yarn stores in the valley, but Camas Creek Yarn is my favorite. No other shop inspires me as much as this one.
We knitters in the Flathead feel very fortunate to have so many wonderful knitting stores to choose from. Tammy's Woolen Collectibles in Sassafras has an excellent store and Tammy is a great teacher and friend to all area knitters. Amy and her great staff at Knit 'N Needle have created another unique and cozy place to knit on a cold day. Don't forget to visit Annie at Witty Knitters in Big Fork! It's a glorious store packed with happy knitters and super yarn. Camas Creek Yarn, the newest yarn store in the valley should not be missed by travelers. Owners Melanie Cross and Andy Hurst have given knitters another great reason to shop in downtown Kalispell. As an employee in the store, I find many people, even non-knitters, come to the shop just to experience the fun atmosphere first hand. Come and visit. Introduce yourself to anyone in the store and we will make sure that you leave a happier person. Flathead travelers, don't miss any of our area knitting shops. Each one offers special yarns, excellant teachers and a unique experience for the weary summer traveler. Husbands, Andy makes sure that the newest fishing magazines are on the coffee table!
