This shop is a good news - bad news situation. The good news is that there is a yarn shop that doesn't require you to go all the way to St. Micheal's or further. The selection is also good. The bad news is that the owner is either extremely shy, or just snotty. I went in with another woman and we walked around for over half an hour. In all that time the owner would not greet us or even make eye contact. Just seemed really rude, especially as there was no one else in the store. The woman also has a dog loose in the store which tends to lend a slight doggy air to the store (not urine or feces, just doggy). Makes you wonder if the dog gets into yarn in baskets on the floor, buy those at your own risk. Overall, I guess it's better than a long drive to somewhere else, but not by much.

I've now visited this store twice when in Easton from New Jersey, and both stops were pleasant experiences. No dog in sight either time, and the owner could not have been nicer. She allows patrons to browse at their own pace and doesn't jump all over you or pressure you to buy. If you ask a question, she is more than willing to help. Easton has been hit by the economic downturn and not much was happening in town, but we would definitely take a swing through there just to stop at Yarns & Co.!

I have been to this yarn shop several times over the past year and have found it refreshing to be able to take my time & enjoy getting my "yarn fix" without feeling pressured to buy anything or be followed around & made to feel uncomfortable. A well-run shop has things clearly marked & well displayed; there is no need for the employee/owner to point out everything. Both the owner & the other employee have been pleasant & very helpful each time I have visited and the dog is not an issue at all. All in all I appreciate the atmosphere, large selection of fiber & the relaxing feeling I experience there. :)

Yarns & Company is a wonderful blend of antiques, baskets and gorgeous yarn of all types. I have found the women there to be helpful when asked but also happy to let me browse. As for the store mascot, the last time I was in a gorgous dog sweater was being modeled. The shop is a delight.
