I am a lifelong knitter/crocheter. A few years ago I started volunteering at the Denver Dumb Friends League. All our adopted kitties (thousands each year) go home in cardboard carriers. It occurred to me that a great way to use up all my leftover yarn would be to make "liners" for these carriers so that the cats and kittens would have something cozy to go home with. The bottoms of the boxes are 8 x 17. If any of your members have yarn lying around and would like to do something useful and much appreciated, they could knit or crochet 8 x 17" rectangles to go in the bottoms of the carriers. If there is no one who would be willing to bring them to the DDFL, I would be happy to come by and get them once you have accumulated a fair number.
Thanks for considering this,
Shelley Davis
